This past Monday, on National Mental Health Day, West Coast Goalkeeping proudly announced our fall partnership with Katie's Save. The organization was created by the Meyer family, in honor of their daughter, Katie.
Katie Meyer was a standout goalkeeper at Stanford University who tragically took her own life last March. She was a wonderful athlete, teammate, daughter, sister and friend. Since her death, Katie’s family has bravely fought to increase mental health resources through meaningful legislation for college students.
"Katie’s Save is a movement for change in our University system. It is a mission to support students navigating dynamics of campus life that may be complicated with added pressures of academics, sports, performing arts and other activities"
To learn more about Katie's Save or to sign their petition, please visit katiessave.org or follow them on Instagram, @katiessave.
This fall, all proceeds from sale of our collaborative Katie’s Save merchandise will go directly to the organization. Our owner, Shawn Norris, and our team worked with the Meyer family to ensure we created something that would make Katie proud.
Our Pro Team has also joined the mission with many lending their voices to the F19HT for Mental Health.
We hope you’ll join us in supporting this incredible cause and family.
And remember, you are loved. 🤍🕊 #MentalHealthMatters #F19HT
