In one of the largest transfers in MLS history, USMNT goalkeeper, Matt Turner, is headed to Arsenal this summer.
Over the past two seasons, Turner has been a brick wall for the New England Revolution and US Men's National Team. Last year alone he was an MLS All-Star MLS Goalkeeper of the Year and set a USMNT record for most shutouts in a single year.
Turner's rise to the Premier League is nothing short of spectacular. Turner went undrafted to the MLS out of Fairfield University. After spending two seasons in the USL with the Richmond Kickers, Matt got his chance to start with the New England Revolution in 2018. By 2020 he was their undisputed #1. In just two short years, he's established himself as North America's best goalkeeper.
Even in 2016, West Coast CEO, Shawn Norris, had a hunch that Turner could be a special keeper. "I had never seen a keeper move quicker laterally right out of the college game. Beyond that, he was an incredibly hard worker, motivated individual and overall good person."
In 2020, Matt launched his signature glove with West Coast and he will take that perfectly Arsenal red model with him to London.
The West Coast family is so proud and can't wait watch Matt on the world's biggest stage!
COME ON YOU GUNNERS!
